A week before the car show in Frankfurt, we recognize the facelifted form of luxury yachts.
The Frankfurt Motor Show is usually more or less under the direction of domestic German brands, so it is no surprise that even such a Mercedes-Benz is about to unload a few new cards right on the table. There is no doubt that the focus is on the new Project One hyper-sport, which has a great tendency to become the biggest highlight of this year, but before its start, Stuttgart is coming up with a pair of less interesting news. After the recent upgrading of the S-class in its standard version, there are now a couple of more chic variants, as the carmaker with the star in the car just serves the facelift of the S Coupé and S Cabriolet. As it was expected, radical optical changes were not, or were not, needed. We are witnessing a decent front and rear bumper, new body shades and redesigned wheel designs. Last but not least, we have a pair of truly fundamental changes.
Why this car?
First of all, it is a front mask that comes with the so-called Panamericana Grill, the vertical versions of Affalterbach. They deliver the right smack and contribute to greater aggression. The full-LED headlamps are complemented by Swarovski crystals on its hips, but when it comes to headlights, the second most important thing is the rear. The end pieces are decorated with magnificent OLED headlights with 66 distinct segments that complement the exterior with compelling graphics animations. By the way, organic controls will be the standard equipment for S-coupe and convertible. With the optical improvements, the interior has also come to understand where we can find a new steering wheel, decors and a few modified details. The new pair of 12.3 “displays is definitely worth mentioning, as the instrument shield on the plastic edges came along the E-class, while the facelift also comes with very distinctive graphics and animations. The widescreen panel thus covers clear glass, which perfectly suits the very luxurious interior.
The engine compartments did not disappear. Even two-door variants of the flagship facelif are entering the market with a totally incomprehensible change of designation. The ball is not a revolutionary change; the altered number can also be used by the car-lovers. On the other hand, there is really nothing going on in the technology. The basic version is the S 450 4Matic with output of 270 kW/ 367 hp and 500 Nm, resulting from the parameters of the well-known 3-liter forklift six-cylinder. The second is the S 560 4Matic, which is based on the new 4-liter V8 with 345 kW/ 469 hp and 700 N. The top of the offer continues to represent a pair of AMG plaques. Model AMG S 63 4Matic +but after a new boom with the 4.0 V8 engine with a power of up to 450 kW/ 612 hp and 900 Nm, it will guarantee in the finals acceleration per hundred in just 3.5 seconds and a maximum of 250 km/ h. The cherry on the torch is the AMG S 65 with a 6-liter twelve-horsepower, with a potential of up to 463 kW/ 630 hp and magical 1,000 Nm. It’s traditionally a rear-wheel drive, which is negatively reflective of the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/ h – The 65-model model gives a hundred “up” in 4.1 seconds. Do not wait for the diesel coupe, I do not play such a game in Stuttgart.
For completeness, let’s say that the quadruple of performance versions are available for the coupé version, while the non-roof car body version will only be available on the market with V8 and V12 engines. Mercedes continues to work on the 9-speed gearbox, so the 9G-Tronic 9G-Tronic 9G-Tronic, which we can even find as the AMG Speedshift MCT 9G in the 63-series, is still the case for S-models. The 7-speed gearbox has only twelve-mile AMGs. Another major innovation is Energizing Technology- The system takes care of the complex setting of several car parts (air conditioning, mood lighting, radio or massages) to give the driver a unique atmosphere. Perhaps no one is surprised that we are also witnessing the great progress in the level of autonomous governance in which class S has always progressed. The top Adaptive Cruise Control and Pilot Pilot has inherited the flagship after a new E-boat, but it complements it with a few fictiers – the system works better with navigation and improved radar, allowing you to adjust speed before exiting the highway, before the turn or junction. Active Body Control modifies the chassis and its behavior in front of the vehicle, while Active Curve technologyregulates centrifugal force and tilting in bends.
