MINI is releasing the world’s inferior concept, the John Cooper Works GP with a massive bodykit

General information

With the opening of the Frankfurt Motor Show, there are many revelations, presentations and, therefore, news. The exception is not even the MINI brand, as we see another, more interesting thing, than the recently discovered electric version. Its full name is John Cooper Works GP Concept, which makes it clear that it is a conceptual design, but it can very quickly become the serial. In the past, the MINI has not presented a number of exclusive and strictly limited editions with a similar name, but the latest version is to go directly to the previous John Cooper Works GP and Cooper S with the John Cooper Works GP kit. In addition, the next novelty is the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the former triumphs of the brand within the Monte Carlo Rally.

Why this car?

As suggested by the design itself, which is largely engraved by a large number of carbon, the association with racing ambitions is not entirely random. The study is not only much more aggressive, but also has a significant impact on the width. Wide bumpers and massive thresholds together with a large roof spoiler create a very seamless undertone, and the carmaker is talking about a balanced weight distribution, making the “go-kart” driving qualities once again. The exterior is painted in the black color of the Black Jack Anthracite, but it is marked by the red contrasting elements in Curbside Red. In spite of many conceptual features, the MINI handwriting is still a traditional handwriting, so well-known round front lights are missing, the exhaust tailpipeor oval rear lights, which however received very impressive graphics – the half British Union Jack flag on each side.

Summary

The circular concept stands on 19 “discs, with the number 0059 on the side of the body pointing to the year when the classic MINI was born, 1959. The interior remains a basic element and the traditions, but we can see a full digital instrument panel as well as an enlarged central display. The concept of display and control with the head-up display locates all the essential information to be in the field of view of the driver. The interior is finally counted with a protective cage, a pair of shell seats with 5-point seat belts, and the rear bench completely disappears.
