The largest and most luxurious SUV from Munich is picking up on reality.
It’s been over a year now that BMW has announced the arrival of its largest SUV, which is also the most luxurious and comfortable vehicle in the brand portfolio. The last few months have been paradoxically less silent, but shortly before the Frankfurt Motor Show, however, the Munichers are announcing a word, and the X7- course project suddenly gets a much more realistic dimension. In the past, BMW has released a set of official photos and model information under the name of the Concept X7 iPerformance, so we already know what will be one of the biggest highlights of the Bavarian stand at the magnificent exhibition center. As the title suggests, it is just a conceptual form, but it suggests more than enough in the final. If nothing else, the minimal basic shape of the body, which is definitely more or less identical to the standard. And it will obviously be majestic and spectacular.
Why this car?
The new X7 will be one of the cornerstones of the largest model offensive in the history of the company, as BMW tries to introduce several luxury items in the next few years. The exterior of the study captures impressive dimensions, really huge kidneys. The front mask has been incredibly sized in the meantime and, along with directly connected laser lights, dominate the front of the bodywork. An interesting detail is finally a massive intake opening in the bumper, whose vertical element finally find out even behind the front pair of wheels and finally also in the rear bumper.
The muscular proportions also excel due to the distinctive 23-inch multi-beam disc of light alloy wheels, but it is also necessary to mention the Manhattan olive-bronze metallic lacquer that highlights the surfaces and shapes of the vehicle. The large panoramic roof window frames a chrome strip similar to that around the side windows. It runs from A-pillars, goes backwards, forms an arc on the roof and then returns back. The modern appearance of the roof is complemented by a transparent Y-shaped strut.
The view of the interior brings a truly unprecedented experience. The result of a combination of precious simple forms and open feeling from space is the fact that the driver and passengers are in a very modern interior that emits a feeling of exclusivity. Really clean to minimalist surfaces are bundled with high-quality materials – no open-cut pine wood decorative strips, dark and polished aluminum, but LED lights built into the roof and dynamic mood lighting of the interior and its contours. Inside the interior, a lot of light is added to the glass roof, which also extends significantly into the back of the interior. He is, by the way, 6-seat, as the seats are arranged in three rows, with four of them having an exclusive individual design. The dark olive-bronze rear seat trim with fine golden pigments adds the feeling of exclusivity even in the smallest detail and creates a contrast to the Smoke White leather trim.
Amazingly modern design features driver-oriented controls, as all BMW owners know. Shapes and dashboard surfaces, center console and doors make it feel like they’re hugging the driver. Next to each other is a 12.3 “digital instrument panel and a central touchscreen information display, giving the screens a much more sophisticated graphics with a considerably futuristic subtone, and the new control concept makes it possible to interact with the two displays with their own close-to-close displays. it can not be partially illuminated in Silver Night, which delivers original controls such as the gear selector, the iDrive control, and the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel.
The iPerformance tag indicates that it is a plug-in hybrid technology, but BMW does not offer any further information. However, it is possible to assume that it will be a similar technique, as found in row 7, where there is a supercharged double-cylinder and an electric motor with a output of 240 kW/ 326 hp. The serial version will come next year, and it is more than clear that even in the production form we will find a minimum of one hybrid. In addition to this, there will certainly be well-known six-cylinder and eight-drive units, more and more is also said to be a 6-liter twelve-cylinder. Let’s not be surprised, then, what is going to be the reality, but it is now obvious that the Munich people are preparing something big, not just by the dimensions themselves.
